Tata Motors have the plans for using the Nano as a platform upon which they can build hybrid and electric cars. They are also planning to build high end cars keeping the platform as Nano.
The Tata Group has been quoted saying that the Nano is not just a car for them. They feel that Nano can be used as a platform for creating car models of high end which can be then sold for better prices and which will yield a better margin for them. These were quoted highlighting the innovation of Tata as well as the innovative nature of the company.
According to the latest news from the innovation desk of Tata, the Tat groups have ideas for converting Nano as the platform upon which electric as well as hybrid cars can be designed. The target customers for these cars, as told by Tat Motors include Brazil, Indonesia, China as well as Russia. This is because the rate of growth in these countries is more than 10%.
Even though the Tata nano had received reviews comparing it with the Ford Model T, Nano has been the cause of a complete revolution in automobile industry. Nano is expected to become the “people’s cars” in a short time.
