Shivaji Park: Vehicle parking during Ganesh fest

On Monday the Bombay High Court has ruled that car parking is allowed in Shivaji Park in central Mumbai as long as the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi which lasts three days.

The parking of vehicles is permitted only for the three days of the festival. Such parking shall be permitted only within the area allocated by the state government

Diwali

Diwali is one the most waited festival celebrated across India and in Nepal. Originally, the name of the festival was Deepawali, which has its origin from Sanskrit, and means “rows of Deep”.

Hindus all over the world celebrate Deepawali. This is a major Hindu festival honouring Mother Lakshmi. Diwali is a holy tradition, it symbolizes the victory of light over darkness. Celebrated joyously all over India, it is a festival of wealth and prosperity.



Diwali celebrations spread across five days, with each day having its own significance and set of rituals.

The first day is called “Dhanteras”, on which new utensils and silver ware is brought to the house.
The second day is called “Chhoti Diwali”, which normally involves preparation for the next day and the tradition of playing cards is observed in many families.

The next day, or third day is the “Badi Diwali”, which involves the worshiping of mother Lakshmi.The fourth day is the Govardhan Puja and finally the five days end with Bhai Dooj.

Diwali is also celebrated in Britain, USA, Guyana, Fiji, Malaysia, Nepal, Mauritius, Myanmar, Singapore, Srilanka, Trinidad and Tobago, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, Africa, and Australia among the Hindus world over. In this festive season people exchange sweets, wear new clothes and buy precious items for celebration and enjoyment.

Diwali is a period for the enjoyment of fun and good times as well as for observing moments of religious significance. The final celebration of love and understanding between brothers and sisters is symbolized by the idea that happiness is the only true sign of wealth in the world and is expressed in its most purely divine manner when it endorses and encourages a deep spring of spiritual happiness between one and others.

Waiting for Sharad Navaratri

Navaratri is celebrated four times during the year. These four Vasanta Navaratri celebrations are, Ashadh Navaratri, the Sharada Navaratri, Navaratri and Pausha / Magha. Of these, the Sharada Navaratri of the month of Vasanta Navaratri Puratashi and Vasanta kala are the most important.



1. Vasanta Navaratri: Basanta Navrathri, also known as Vasant Navratras is the nine-day festival dedicated to the nine forms of Shakti (Mother Goddess) in the spring season (March-April). It is also known as Chaitra Navratras. The nine-day festival is also known as Ram Navratri.
2. Navaratri Gupta: Gupta Navratri, also known as Gayatri and Ashadh or Shakambhari Navratri, nine days is dedicated to the nine forms of Shakti (Mother Goddess) in Ashadh month (June-July). Gupta Navaratri is observed during the Shukla Paksha Ashadh (waxing moon).
3. Sharana Navaratri: This is the most important Navratris. Simply called Maha Navratri (the Great Navratri) and is celebrated in the month of Ashvin. Also known as Sharad Navaratri as it is celebrated during Sharad (beginning of winter, from September to October).
4. Pausha Navaratri: Pausha Navratri is nine days dedicated to the nine forms of Shakti (Mother Goddess) in Pausha month (December-January). Pausha Navaratri is observed during the Shukla Paksha Pausha (waxing moon).
5. Magha Navaratri: Magha Navratri, also known as Gupta Navratri, nine days is dedicated to the nine forms of Shakti (Mother Goddess) in the month of Magha (January-February). Magha Navaratri is observed during Magha Shukla Paksha (waxing moon).

India Independence

On August 15 we celebrate the independence of the sovereign nation of India. In 1947 after decades of struggle for independence from British Empire, India finally achieved by implementing democracy.
The festivities begin in New Delhi with the raising of the flag from the Prime Minister at the Red Fort. Also in this ceremony, delicious candies are distributed among the attendees.
A tradition that has for years is that of flying kites. It's really beautiful to see the sky covered with thousands and thousands of comets. Children and adults, without distinction of participating in this particular celebration, in an atmosphere of revelry and joy.
Ganesha hopefully give us a beautiful day to celebrate this great date for the country.

Waiting For The Raksha Bandhan

On the full moon of the month Shraavana he is held every year in India Raksha Bandhan.
The Raksha Bandhan is a festival that celebrates the relationships between brothers and sisters. The celebration takes place when the brother ties a tie between him and his sister wrist, while giving a gift and promises to take care of it forever.

Traditionally, the brothers feed off each other with sweets.
