Indoor GPS System By Nokia
Scientists have made your life easier by developing an indoor Positioning System which will provide help in finding your way around airports or shopping malls. The indoor positioning system which has been developed for the cellular phones is similar to the GPS.
The Global Positioning System does not work inside the buildings as the satellite signals which have been used by the GPS do not have the ability for getting through the walls.
But, in the indoor positioning system, instead of the satellites, the cell phones can use the nearby Wi - FI transmitters. The signals from this are triangulated by the indoor positioning system for calculating the position, which is then displayed on the map. This was reported by the “New Scientist”.
The newly developed system is put in use in Finland for testing purposes. Even though this is not the first indoor positioning system, the others which have been discovered earlier have used for very specialised needs like helping the fire fighters for finding the colleagues during a fire accident.
The indoor position system which has been discovered by now owes its discovery to the world’s topmost cell phone manufacturer, Nokia. This feature can nbe incorporated with the current Nokia handsets.
One basic requirement for this system to work is the accessing of the maps which are located inside the buildings. This will be feasible only in public buildings where the site maps are already available.
If the current testing is successful, then the system will be rolled out earlier.

Blackberry Tour 9630 review
Research In Motion (RIM) has added yet another smart phone to the current line up of Blackberry. The major targets for this Blackberry Tour 9630 phone are the executives as well as mainstream customers.
This new Blackberry Tour 9630 smartphone has features lying between the Blackberry curve, preferred by the mainstream customers and the Blackberry bold, which is targeted for the corporate world.
The co-Chief Executive of Research In Motion, Jim Balsillie, mentioned in an interview that Blackberry Tour will be launched very shortly with Sprint and Verizon in the US. He also mentioned that Blackberry Tour will also be available in Canada with the service providers being BCE’s Bell and Telus.
The Blackberry Tour is not very much differentiated from other Blackberry handsets in its appearance. The Blackberry Tour also takes the shape of the candy bar with a complete keyboard. RIM has mentioned this one as the “world phone” which indicates that it can be used easily for accessing voice as well as data services on the networks which are outside the home country of the users. For the retail market, Tour has the multimedia features which can be found in Blackberry Curve and Blackberry Pearl, which includes a video and photo camera as well as a media player.
Even though RIM is unveiling products which cater to the needs of the cross customer segments, it also takes care for not alienating the corporate customers, since the corporate users have been relying on Blackberry for sending emails over wireless networks in a secure manner.
